The heading asks: "What is this Meetup's purpose?":  Well, my hope is that we get to meet other Iranian Americans, make friends with like-minded people, create and attend gatherings of all sorts and help enrich each other's lives.   I have a VERY special place in my heart for my fellow Iranian Americans and I hope to be able to help that idea along.  It is no small task, but let's see how far we can take it.  You never know. 

The purpose of this Meetup is to act as an informal social network for the Iranian American community in Los Angeles. You should consider this group if you are Iranian, part Iranian, or have an appreciation for all things Iranian.

I just got an email with a bunch of recipes for Persian food and I had a total "Julie and Julia" moment. I'm pretty sure I don't want to start a blog, so I figured it might be fun to start a meetup where we can get together and try the recipes.
